There's a saying "Better late then never" and I guess you could apply that to this post, since the Tomahawks last play on Saturday night and I haven't had a chance to write a game review till now.

After losing the first game vs. the Warriors, Johnstown got back on the winning path, 4-3 in a shootout. Last season Johnstown couldn't win games in overtime. You never want to give a team a point but being able to get the extra will certainly come in handy at the end of the season.

Michigan for the second game in a row outshot Johnstown, this time 36-25.

Johnstown was 1 for 7 on the power play and Michigan went 1 for 5.

Scoring:

1st

Michigan - Jake Hopfner (power play) (Joshua Shellman, Sean Campbell) 16:39

2nd

Johnstown - Matthew Meier (Joe Drabin, Brandon Reinholz) 0:30
Johnstown - Alex Jaeckle (power play) (Jordan Watt, Brandon Reinholz) 17:47

3rd

Michigan - Jon Farkas (Cam Jorgensen, AJ Marcinek) 1:59
Johnstown - Ryan McNeely (Josh Bowes, Collin Finkhouse) 14:21
Michigan - Connor Lyons (Zack Szajner) 18:37

Notes:

Josh Bowes registered his first point with Johnstown on the team's third goal of the game.

Michigan's Cam Jorgensen tried out for the Tomahawks last season and made it to the team's main camp until he was cut before opening night.

Trevor Heuser fought Mitchell Wedding in the first period.

Alex Okicki stopped 33 of 36 shots.

Michigan's Trevor Gorsuch stopped 21 of 24 shots.

Tomahawks are off this upcoming weekend, but will be back in action at home the following weekend vs. the Soo Eagles.
